Zumil & Sajida II: “Pithi” Ceremony!

I personally LOVE shooting Pithi ceremonies! They are just soo much fun, things always get out of hand when it coms to ”trashing” the groom with  paste made out of chickpea flour, turmeric, rose water, and other ingredients. But I have to admit that of all the “pithi” ceremonies we have ever shot, Zumil’s ceremony takes the 1st prize.. and I’ll just let the images below show you why….

PS: incase if you are wondering why Zumil & Naheem (Zumil’s best man) are dressed in Scrubs for this ceremony, well, Zumil is a doctor, so they decided to dress up in scrubs+with some goggles for their “pithi”… enjoy!!

August 31, 2009 - 10:18 am Jill - Outstanding work Garima! I'm sure these pics will be treasured by this couple a long long time!!

Sajida’s Henna Ceremony

Zumil & Sajida tied the knot this June with full 4 days of wedding festivities! And of course we were there to document their each & every wedding festivities from henna ceremony, Pithi ceremony, wedding ceremony & the day after farewell ceremony!

So we decided its best that instead of doing one HUGE post with all the events, we do one post per ceremony to document all the little details, emotions & moments.. so here we go with post#1 from Sajida’s Henna Ceremony @ the Venetian Club, Hamilton

August 27, 2009 - 9:31 pm Reena - Outstanding Work! I cannot believe how all the details are captured!! I am soooo glad I booked you guys for next year!

August 28, 2009 - 10:04 am Shilpi - Great job guys! The bride to be looks soo pretty & happy! And absolutley love the decor & detail shots!

However, they chose to have their wedding reception here in Toronto, Canada, where both Anoop & Deepa grew up. For their reception family & friends flew in literally from all over the world, for a grand affair. The reception was abundant of beautiful decor, stunning accent lighting and of course bunch of fabulous people ready to party.. & here are some of our favorite images from their stunning affair!

Rita & Aalok’s Engagement Ceremony-Sneak Peek!

Rita & Aalok will be tying the knot next year July in Vancouver, BC,  and we are so excited to share that we will be there to document their BIG day and all the festivities leading up to it! Rita is originally from Vancouver & Aalok is from Toronto, so now if you are wondering how the heck did these 2 love birds meet??!! Wellllll..there is a story behind that which is quite amazing &  funny (funny, ONLY because the way it was relayed at their engagement party, which was quite unique & so well done)! But I will leave that story to share for their big post coming soon in a few weeks. But for now here is a quick trailer of their engagement ceremony & party at the grand Pearson Convention Centre.

There were sooo many beautiful details everywhere at their ceremony.. 2

Très Chic Planning: Custom Invitations & Logo

I truly believe when it comes to things in life, especially weddings, love is in the details. And I love it when brides pay extra attention to all the small details of their wedding, which essentially ties in to the entire motif of the wedding. So for the love of weddings, and stunning wedding details of décor, cake, shoes, jewelry etc, I am starting a new category on my blog called Très chic Planning,  inspirational posts where I will post new trends, unique wedding ideas that I come across. I will also bring in guest bloggers such as wedding planners, decorators, cake stylist, graphic artists, & brides to be, to provide some fresh & hip wedding inspirations and some professional advice.

To start off this section today, I recently got an email from my soon to be bride, Hena, in which she emailed me her wedding logo, also the front jacket of her wedding invitation. She is a ‘sucker’ (in her own words) for black and white stripes with red, and wanted to incorporate that theme in to every aspect of her wedding. So she started with the very first wedding item that goes out to all the wedding guests, her wedding invitation..apparently there will also be a zebra print cake at the wedding but for that we’ll have to wait till October, but for now here is her wedding logo/invitation…

Thank you Hena for submitting your fabulous wedding logo/invitation!

Hena + Omair’s Engagement

“Concrete jungle” is how Hena defines downtown Toronto,  from the street cars to fabulous cafes & historic buildings  juxtaposing the contemporary structures, downtown Toronto’s got it all!. And Hena & Omair love the hustle &  bustle of our great city. So when I asked Hena to pick a location for their engagement session, it was easy for them, Hena & Omair wanted a very metro-style engagement session shoot in the midst of Toronto’s ‘concrete jungle’…We started the shoot at the union station, and from there we walked around town, from BCE place to an outdoor closed coffee shop, to the very busy Royal York  lobby. Special thanks to Alisha, my lovley sister, for helping me through this shoot with carrying my equipment & scoping out great locations etc!

Here are some of my favorite images from Hena & Omair’s engagement session…Enjoy!
