PS: more vacay images coming real soon….this week!!
After Punjab, we travelled to the west India to the state of Rajasthan, very well known for its handicrafts, unique culture, desert terrain, castles, jewllery, and also for some uber luxurious heritage castles turned in to 6 STAR hotels.
On our first day in Rajasthan our itienary included the following:
-
the day started at 5:00 AM from Delhi via cab to Jaipur – 5 hour journey.
-
Visit Amber Fort before entering the Pink City, Jaipur, Rajasthan.
-
Visit Jal Mahal in Jaipur.
-
Check in to our hotel room – rest for an hour
-
After an hour or so of resting we took off to
Choki Dhaani, another fabulous restaurant just like Haveli in Punjab, that is preserving the folk culture of Rajasthan.
..sounds exhausting?!! well, it didn’t feel exhausting at all while we were travelling and to be honest our each day in India was pretty much the same full of multiple places to visit. But it’s funny now when I am going through the images on my computer & reminiscing I can’t believe how much we did each day..Anyways, here are some images from our day 1 in Rajasthan…
Our first stop in Rajasthan was the Amber Fort, which is located in Amber, about 11 km. from Jaipur.

I am obsessed with details and as cliche as it sounds I am a true believer of the saying that “love is in the details”..I was just so fascinated with the all the intricate work on the ceilings, walls, etc. everything all hand painted with paint made out of precious gems hence the reason the colors have lasted centuries on these monuments.

the garden area..
Next stop: Jal Mahal (meaning “Water Palace”)

We have been back for almost a week now and I think I can finally say today that I feel a little “normal”, normal not only in the sense of getting over jetlag but also getting used to the work & home life in Canada. It is always the hardest to get back in to the routine of your usual life, work & pace of things after being away for soo long. So we are finally getting around to downloading images from our cards & starting to post the images from our trip..Starting with the first installment of images today from our trip to the state of Punjab, we visited the Golden Temple & Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar &..also some images from one of the restaurants on GT road called, Haveli, which quickly became our favorite place to eat while in Punjab, I totally recommend that you stop by here if you happen to be in the area and not only enjoy their yummy food but also the amazing job that they have done in perserving the folk culture of Punjab.
Enjoy!
